Debra Martens writes fiction and prose. She makes her living as a freelance writer, editor and sometimes teacher. She also moves around a lot, so that her life feels a bit like an international version of Stompin’ Tom’s “I’ve been everywhere.” All of this has come together at her online site, Canadian Writers Abroad, for which she interviews authors, writes about literary events, edits book reviews, and seeks submissions.  She gets to edit book reviews not only because she runs Canadian Writers Abroad but also because she has been writing reviews since she was an undergrad, when she wrote the books “Watsup” at The Varsity.
